About me
I provide psychological assessments and interventions for adolescents and adults who are experiencing a range of difficulties that may be impacting on their day-to-day life and holistic well-being.
I take a client-centred, holistic approach to therapy, with each session being tailored to you and your presenting needs. My authenticity and warmth aims to create a strong therapeutic relationship.
I utilise a range of evidence-based therapies, including, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectal Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) depending on presenting needs.
In my work with couples, I use a practice-based model called The Developmental Model of couples therapy which integrates attachment, neuroscience and differentiation as well as incorporating parts of the other models mentioned when needed.
Personal
I am Wellington born and bred and moved to Auckland when I was was in my late teens to attend university and start my journey. I am NZ Pakeha/NZ Māori.
I am in a long-term heterosexual relationship with my partner, and I’m no stranger to the idea that sometimes this can be somewhat of a rollercoaster, full of highs and lows. Therefore I have some insight into challenges that couples may face, not only from a therapeutic, theoretical space but also from lived experience.
In my spare time you cannot keep me away from the ocean, whether this is walks on the beach, boating, fishing or swimming.
I also enjoy connecting and spending time with those close to me, either eating good food or attending concerts and events, sharing a laugh and making memories.
